EXPORT & IMPORT MANAGER

The family business HESTRA / Martin Magnusson & Co AB was founded in 1936 and is now run by the third and fourth generations of the Magnusson family. Design and development take place at the headquarters in Hestra, Småland. The majority of production occurs in our own manufacturing companies located in China, Vietnam, Hungary, and Cambodia. We also control the contact and purchasing of leather, fabrics, and strategic materials to ensure good control and quality throughout the production chain. Our finest products are handmade by Europe’s most experienced glove makers. Annually, we produce approximately 2.3 million pairs of gloves and generate around 800 million SEK in revenue. Exports account for 70%, with Scandinavia, the USA, Alpine countries, and Japan being our largest markets. The company is in an exciting growth phase driven by our strong brand and high product quality. The group has over 700 employees, of which about 65 are in Sweden. We have subsidiaries in Norway, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, the USA, Vietnam, and Cambodia, as well as agents, distributors, and retailers in over 40 countries. We are a family-oriented company with a non-prestigious approach, where we are very mindful of our history and values. We would describe our leadership style as informal, and the organization is flat with short decision-making paths. Today, HESTRA is present all over the world as we have five own factories and manufacture gloves for sports, fashion, and professional use. Hands and gloves are still our focus. And we are still based in Hestra.

The company continues to develop with investments in both operations and employees. We are now looking for an EXPORT & IMPORT MANAGER who will play a central role in the business. This is a specialist role where you will be responsible for customs handling and the administrative processes related to our international trade, export, and import. You will be a key person in ensuring that our deliveries are handled efficiently and in accordance with applicable regulations. In your work, you will actively collaborate with several internal departments and be part of our logistics team, where cooperation, humility, and engagement are central values.

Some of your main tasks will include maintaining our AEO certificate and ensuring that applications for various permits are executed and updated through contact with the Customs Authority. You will be responsible for setting up imports against our customs warehouse and declaring exports in our customs system. Another important part of the role is to stay updated on trade agreements and inform the business about any changes that may affect the work. Investigating and analyzing new future trade routes with a focus on customs regulations will also be important. We would like you to take the initiative in developing system support and processes within customs handling and, when necessary, support your colleagues in the logistics/warehouse department with other related tasks.

With us, you will have the opportunity to develop in a specialist role with significant responsibility, while also having access to support from colleagues, management, and external consultants (if needed). We offer a work environment where your ideas and expertise are highly valued – and where you can influence the company’s development. Flexibility in the form of remote work a few days a week is possible.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone with a background in customs handling and logistics who is used to working in a structured manner. As the work requires knowledge/experience in customs warehouses, it is a requirement and/or completed relevant customs education that includes customs warehouse management. With a good understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures, you are confident in making decisions and handling administrative processes with precision. As a person, you are analytical, solution-oriented, and enjoy taking responsibility and driving your work forward. You have strong communication skills and can express yourself well in both Swedish and English. We would also like you to have experience working with business systems and digital support systems for customs handling. It is an advantage if you also have knowledge of Intrastat reporting and reporting to authorities. We look forward to welcoming a new colleague who shares our passion for quality, craftsmanship, and logistics!
